Frank Howell Fisher
Savannah, GA – Frank Howell Fisher, age 75, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his home on Skidaway Island. The Chester County, Pennsylvania native moved to Savannah in 1993, settling at The Landings on Skidaway Island. He graduated from The Westtown School in Westtown, PA in 1949 and from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, in 1953.
Mr. Fisher served as a medic in the United States Army Air Force, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 1953-1955.
He was a member of the Landings Club and the Skidaway Island Kiwanis Club, through which he became very involved with the Hess Elementary School Bear Buddy Program. Mr. Fisher was the founder, in the late 1990’s, of the Savannah Quaker Group. He also attended church with his wife at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Jeanne Russell Fisher.
Surviving are his wife, of twenty-four years, Sandra S. Fisher of Savannah; his children, Kimberle Fisher Glazer of Vienna, VA, Susan Hyland Fisher of Bay City, MI, Michael Dudley Fisher of Birchrunville, PA, Christopher Kirk Fisher of , and Holly McGill Fisher of Downingtown, PA; step-children, Kimberly McGill Wolfe of Edwards, CO and William Ronald McGill of West Chester, PA; his brothers, Guilford Dudley Fisher of New York City, NY and Henry V. Fisher of Kennett Square, PA; fifteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Interment will take place in West Chester, PA.
